Report Design I

Introduction

This two days course is designed for the novice Crystal Reports user who needs to quickly become proficient in creating and modifying reports. Some of the topics include planning a report, creating a basic report, using the Report Explorer, record selection, sorting, grouping and summarizing, charting, basic formulas, and exporting.

Pre-requisites

Learners must complete the tutorial in the Crystal design using Crystal Reports 9.

Report Design II

Introduction

This two-day course is designed to build on the topics learned in Report Design I to increase report design skills and discover the reporting power of Crystal Reports. Along with hands-on practice, the course covers the Crystal repository, grouping options, formulas such as variables and functions, and parameters.

Pre-requisites

Learners must have taken the Report Design I course and/or understand basic report design concepts such as linking, record selection, sorting, grouping, summarizing, basic formulas, conditional reporting and section formatting. Relational database knowledge is recommended. The prerequisites assignment for this course is to complete the Report Design II Prerequisite Exercise available on the Crystal Decisions Web site or from your sales representative.

Report Design III

Introduction

This one-day course is designed to further increase report design skills by concentrating on advanced topics. The course covers Crystal architecture, report design and Structured Query Language, advanced formula creation such as arrays and custom functions, subreports, and a hands-on report design workshop. In the Report Design Workshop, you will build upon topics you’ve learned throughout the Report Design courses. Each activity in the workshop presents a different business scenario in which to apply your report design skills. The reports you develop in this workshop can also be used as a guide for your own reporting needs.

Pre-requisites

Learners must have taken Report Design I and II courses or have a minimum of six months of report design experience with Crystal Reports and understand advanced report design concepts such as formulas, parameters, sections, crosstabs, and exporting. Relational database knowledge is recommended. The prerequisites assignment for this course is to complete the Report Design III Prerequisites Exercise available on the Crystal Decisions web sites or from your sales representative.
