Citrix MetaFrame XP 1.0 for Windows Administration

Introduction

This course provides the necessary foundation to fully utilise the power of the Citrix® MetaFrame XP™ product family. Citrix MetaFrame XP is the most manageable, scalable,and flexible platform for application delivery and management — specifically optimized for the Internet and Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Servers.

Formal instructor-led training quickly gets the administrator familiar with the MetaFrame XP features and functions, enabling your enterprise to immediately benefit from the power of the product. This four-day course will prepare administrators to expertly perform Citrix MetaFrame XP installations and administrative tasks.

Pre-requisites

A working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2000 server products

* Install Citrix MetaFrame XP and Citrix ICA Clients in a variety of network Environments.
* Recognise Citrix technologies including Independent Computing Architecture (ICA), Independent Management Architecture (IMA), client device licensing and SpeedScreen Latency Reduction.
* Identify the features and functions of the Citrix Management Console, configure a server farm and individual server settings, manage licenses and administer MetaFrame XP servers.
* Shadow users, configure SpeedScreen Latency Reduction and new ICA connections.
* Utilize Load Manager and MetaFrame XP security features.
* Install and publish applications in the MetaFrame XP multi-user environment.
* Identify ICA Clients along with the functions and features of the ICA Clients.
* Use the Citrix Program Neighborhood™ to connect to applications on local and remote networks.

* Configure Application Launching and Embedding (ALE) for the ICA Clients.
* Identify and configure new printer management features included with MetaFrame XP.
* Monitor and troubleshoot Citrix MetaFrame XP servers.
* Recognise the features available with MetaFrame Xpe, including application packaging and delivery, system monitoring and analysis.

Nfuse Administration

Introduction

To most effectively present your business on the Internet, it is increasingly important to stay current on the latest Web technologies.

This course enhances your Web-related expertise by educating you on how best to implement and administer Citrix Nfuse in a Citrix MetaFrame environment. This course is designed to train Citrix MetaFrame administrators on how to create Web pages using Citrix NFuse to deploy Citrix MetaFrame-published applications via the Web. This course is not intended for Web masters or developers.

Pre-requisites

Successful completion of a Citrix MetaFrame Administration course Windows or UNIX, and a technical interest in providing ICA clients with applications via the Web or a knowledge of publishing applications in a Citrix MetaFrame environment and accessing applications via a Citrix ICA client

* Understand and identify Citrix NFuse architecture, components, features and advantages
* Install and configure Citrix NFuse on the Citrix server, Web server and ICA Client system
* Install and use the website wizard to create Web pages
